First they caged him. Then they torched him.
ISIS, which disgusted the world by beheading hostages on video, raised the bar on barbarity by burning alive a captured Jordanian pilot trapped in a cage — and posting the awful footage online.
The horrific death of Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh at the hands of brutal Islamic State militant was confirmed Tuesday by the Jordanian military, which vowed revenge.

“While the military forces mourn the martyr, they emphasize his blood will not be shed in vain,” military spokesman Mamdouh al-Ameri said in a statement read on television. “Our punishment and revenge will be as huge as the loss of the Jordanians.”
That response will be swift. A Jordanian security official said Jordan will execute female Al Qaeda terrorist Sajida al-Rishawi, the subject of a failed prisoner swap, at dawn Wednesday. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the issue with the media.King Abdullah, who was making the rounds in Washington when the video was released, met behind closed doors with President Obama.
Obama called the murdered pilot “a true son of Jordan.”
“Lt. al-Kasasbeh's dedication, courage, and service to his country and family represent universal human values that stand in opposition to the cowardice and depravity” of ISIS, Obama said in a statement.

His majesty also had a sitdown with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
“They are even more determined to deal with ISIS,” Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) told Bloomberg View. “I think you are going to see the results of that very soon.”But at the desert outpost where the pilot’s kin had waited for weeks while Jordanian officials tried to negotiate his release, relatives broke down crying while a few blasted the king for putting the victim in harm’s way.
“I received a phone call from the chief of staff saying God bless his soul,” an uncle cried out in Arabic.
ISIS released the 20-minute video in an apparent bid to pressure Jordan into leaving the coalition that has been fighting the militants. And it made for grim viewing.
In it, the prisoner stands in a cage, his orange jumpsuit wet with some kind of accelerant.
Sporting a bruise under his left eye, the captive spoke on camera about Jordan’s involvement in the U.S.-led airstrikes on ISIS positions in Iraq and Syria.
Then, as heavily armed ISIS henchmen watch impassively, fire snakes up a trail of combustible liquid sprayed on the sand into the cage where it engulfs the helpless pilot in flames.
In the video, the killers reportedly threatened to kill other Jordanian pilots — and named them.
Jordan state TV reported the execution was carried out Jan. 3, as negotiations for the pilot’s release were underway.
The Jordanian government had demanded proof of life for al-Kaseasbeh before proceeding with the proposed prisoner swap of al-Rishawi.
On Tuesday, they got a proof of death.
Al-Kaseasbeh’s family confirmed the doomed man in the video was the 26-year-old pilot, who was captured in December after his plane crashed near Raqqa, Syria.
The latest ISIS snuff movie was released a few days after the monstrous militants, who remain in control of large swaths of Syria and Iraq, published a video of the beheading of Japanese journalist Kenji Goto.
They killed Goto and another Japanese hostage after first demanding that Tokyo pay a $200 million ransom.
