A brief history of Kashmir
Kashmir is the region of the Indian subcontinent. It is the northwestern region of India.There are beautiful nature and it is called as the Heaven of Earth. Kashmir geographically denoted the valley between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal mountain range until the mid -19th century.Today Kashmir administered by India,Pakistan and China. Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir which consists of Jammu,Kashmir valley and Ladakh. The Pakistan administered territories of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit- Balistan. The Chinese -administered region of Aksai Chin and Trans Karakoram Tract.
Kashmir was a centre of Hinduism in the 1st millennium and later Budhism and Kasmir Shaivism.Shah Mir was the 1st Muslim ruler in 1349.It was under Muslim rule for next five centuries until 1820.Kashmir was under Ranjit Sing after 1820. There was Dogra ruler in Kashmir under the paramountcy of the British Crown from 1846 to 1947.Now Kashmir administered by India,Pakistan and China.
